I remember before having my daughter I wouldn’t go anywhere without makeup on. Do you remember those days when you could spend like an hour or so on your hair and makeup and just feel so great when you were done?
Well, I do but it is starting to become a distant memory. Once I had Vay I didn’t do my makeup for a couple of months. Honestly, I didn’t really go out much so there was no need. I still remember the first time I did my makeup I just felt put together. I am not saying anyone needs to wear makeup I just personally feel like I have myself put together when I am dressed and have my makeup on. The thing is I don’t usually have much time to get ready in the mornings. I choose to sleep in and hitting that snooze button over getting ready. So during the week, my makeup routine has to be fast.
Almost all the makeup I use is Younique Products. I love that the makeup is NOT tested on animals, it’s hypoallergenic and naturally based. I originally fell in love with their 3D Fiber Mascara a few years back but I didn’t really look into the rest of their products, then when their liquid foundation came out I saw so many pictures of before and afters from people who tried it and I had to try it myself.
My face has little red marks on it and it has been really hard finding something to cover it that doesn’t look like I just caked on my foundation. When I tried it I fell in love with it immediately and now I have tried so many more of their products and they are pretty much all I use, so I decided to become a presenter so I could get a discount on all my makeup. Makeup can get pricey and I am all for saving some money.
Just last week I went to Disneyland and made the mistake of just using regular sunscreen on my face which caused me to break out. I’m 30 I really thought I wouldn’t have to worry about acne at this age but here I am. As I said before I sleep in so in the morning I need to get ready fast. This look took about 10 min and It is not because I am a pro at applying makeup. The makeup is just that good and very pigmented so a little goes a long way.
Tips for Doing your makeup fast
- Use your hands- When I apply primer or BB Creams I use my fingers. It spreads the makeup faster and more evenly. If I am applying liquid foundation I use a powder puff brush since it works best for that product.
- Apply what is most important first- let’s say I only have five minutes to do my makeup. I would apply primer first and then my foundation, these two are the most important steps to me because I care more about an even complexion. Next, I would do mascara and then blush or bronzer. This is what I do most days then if I have time to do anything else I will.
- Just use Tinted lip balm– I love to use these because it moisturizes my lips while still adding color to it. It’s like two steps in one.
- If apply eyeliner use Tape- Apply tape to the outer corner of the eye. This way the line is straight, even and takes less time trying to perfect it.
Products I used.
First, I moisturize I have dry skin so this is a must right before I apply makeup. Then I apply our Primer I use a very small pea size amount and apply it all over my face. Next, I apply the concealer just on the places I broke out at and If I have bags under my eyes I apply there as well (If you don’t have any breakouts you don’t really need the concealer the foundation has really good coverage). I don’t fully blend in the concealer I tap it a couple of times on the area and then leave in for a minute or two, sometimes I do I eye makeup while waiting, then finish blending it in.
Once the concealer is blended I use four to five drops of the Mineral Touch Liquid foundation on a puff brush. It is very important with this foundation to use a fluffy makeup brush. I do not recommend using more than the four or five drops. I know four drops don’t look like much but I promise it will cover your entire face and neck.
Now for the eyes, I like to use neutral colors. Sometimes when I am in a hurry I just use one light neutral eye color for my whole lid which is usually Elated from palette #1. In the picture, I use the color Smitten in Palette #3 for the sparkly silver shade and then Swanky from Palette #1 for the brown in the crease. I Filled in my eyebrows with the shade Chipper in Palette #1. For the eyeliner, I prefer our Dip & draw liner (this is just easier for me to draw the line straight with) in the shade Perfect which is just black. If you prefer a pencil or a liquid that isn’t a dip we have that too. Last, on the eyes, I apply my mascara.
I try to do a quick contour when I am in a hurry so I used my Trio contour for my cheeks. I start from on top on my ear and make a line down my cheek then blend. This is my quick contouring if you have more time you can contour your jawline and nose if you like.
The last thing I do is my lips which I usually just do in the car. I like to stick with neutral again so in this look I used lipstick in Prodigal. Now I use our liquid lipstick in the shade Sublime which is a new shade. This is my absolute favorite. The color is a perfect neutral and lasts so long on my lips. I will definitely have to add a picture with it on soon.
