Okay, this is the most simple, easiest recipe ever. I’m not exaggerating, seriously. I was debating whether to even make a blog post to this but I didn’t want to have to type exactly how to make this in every post I add date syrup to. This Date Syrup has two ingredients and if you buy already pitted dates it makes it even easier to make.
Seriously, I love this date syrup. It is perfect to add to recipes that you want to sweeten without adding sugar. I put this in my Pumpkin and Date Oatmeal and it’s perfectly sweetened and needs no sugar. I do want to add that some dates are sweeter than others. The ones at Trader Joe’s I tried a few times now and they weren’t sweet at all. It was very disappointing and no matter how much date syrup I added to my food it didn’t get sweet. Now I buy my dates in the bulk area at Winco. I love their bulk area they have seeds, beans, rice, flours, and even dog food. You can bring your own bags and fill them up then you are charged by the weight. This is great when you are trying to reduce your carbon footprint to help the planet.
Date Syrup Recipe
To make the date syrup you will need 1 cup of pitted dates and 1 cup of water. If you can’t find dates already pitted don’t worry just cut them in half and pull out the seed. Put the dates and water in a blender and blend on high for about 3 minutes. If you have a high powered blender like a Vitamix then it would take less time and you can use less water like 3/4 cup. I then store the date syrup in an 8oz. glass mason jar. This usually lasts a week maybe a week and a half if you have a fridge that doesn’t have a door that keeps opening itself.
Now wasn’t that so easy? I really hope you guys love this date syrup. Let me what you use it for I love new Ideas to try.
